The Talmud is a composite of in depth legal analyses of practical law, logical argumentation and moral teachings. Its laws and ethics have served as a cornerstone of humanity's civil and moral infrastructure while shaping its legal-judicial systems. These courses will compare and contrast legal reasoning and adaptation between Talmudic and American law.

How does this work?

IATLaw.org has an extensive Online CLE Audio Library with a wide variety of sessions on many different subjects. The audio sessions as well as the corresponding materials can either be listened to or viewed online as well as downloaded to your local computer to listen and print for reviewing offline.

All of the materials and audio session from our online CLE library are virtually stored on our Web site. Therefore, you can easily listen to any of our online CLE audio sessions from wherever you happen to be - the office, home or a computer in a remote location while you are traveling. As long as you have access to a computer that is connected to the Internet, you can listen to an audio session on IATLaw.org at any time.

Do you travel, not have constant access to the internet? No problem! Simply download one of our audio sessions and listen to it on the go, or read it on the go! You don't need to be connected to the internet in order to listen to one of our audio sessions.

The key benefit of our online CLE program is-- CONVENIENCE TO YOU! Unlike traditional seminars, YOU decide the time of day that it is most convenient for you to listen to these recorded audio sessions, so you don't have to make any adjustments to your schedule or appointments in order to participate. Early mornings or late nights-- it doesn't matter. Whatever time of day works best for YOU is the determining factor, not a prescribed date and time over which you have no control. Also, you don't have to complete an audio session all in one sitting. You can listen to the audio sessions over several periods of time, instead of having to carve out a large block of time in your schedule to complete a seminar all at one time. The end result is a better and more enjoyable CLE learning experience for YOU!

What do I need to participate?

All you need in order to purchase and listen to one of our online CLE sessions is a computer with a Web browser and an Internet connection. This can either be your own computer at your home or office, a friend's computer, or a computer at a library or school.

In addition, you don't have to log on from the same computer each time. As long as you have access to the Web and your IATLaw.org username and password, you can access your account at our site and fully participate in one of our convenient online CLE sessions from wherever you may be.

IATLaw.org online CLE audio sessions include both streaming audio and written materials. Our written materials are in PDF file format, so you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software on your computer (which comes pre-installed on most computers.) For our audio and video materials, we use the RealPlayer software from Real Networks. This is also free software that you can easily download on the Internet if you don't already have it on your computer. (Please note: To receive streaming audio over the Internet, generally, you would need a fairly fast connection to the Internet (such as DSL or cable.) If you are using a telephone line and a modem to connect to the Internet, you may not be able to receive certain audio or video files due to the slow connection speed.)

What is the cost per audio session?

The cost for our online CLE sessions is only $60 per NY CLE credit hour.

Once I have registered for a session, do I have to complete it right away and do I have to finish it all in one sitting?

No. This is one of the key benefits to our online CLE seminars. As a member IATLaw.org, you can simply listen to the sessions at times that are convenient for YOU. For example, you may want to put in 30 minutes a day on your lunch break for a few days or spend some time listening late at night, from the comfort of your home computer, rather than having to complete the session in one sitting.

Are written materials available for IATLaw.org sessions?

Yes. For each audio CLE session, we set up a PDF File that contains the written materials for that session. These materials could include articles, papers, PowerPoint slides, forms or any other written documents that the instructor(s) have submitted for the sessions. These documents would be equivalent to the course notebook that you would typically receive at the beginning of a live CLE seminar. The materials can be viewed online with your computer or you can download and print the materials, as you prefer. You can access these materials whenever you want through your account.

Besides listening to the session do I have to do anything else in order to receive participatory CLE credits?

Yes.
For NY CLE you have to fill out an evaluation form and an attestation form after each session which you can download and print from the "My Account" page. You will also be required to mark down a specific code mentioned during the session.
For PA CLE you have to fill out an evaluation form after each session which you can download and print from the "My Account" page.
For CA MCLE you have to fill out an evaluation form after each session which you can download and print from the "My Account" page.
After completing these forms, you can either fax them to 212-697-6749 or mail them to IAT Law - 3 West 57th Street, Ninth floor. New York, N.Y., 10019. You will receive your certificate of completion in the mail within 2 weeks.

I'm having trouble accessing the streaming audio or video materials for the session. What can I do?

Please note that in order to receive streaming audio or video materials online, generally, you would need a fairly fast connection to the Internet (such as DSL or a cable modem.) If you are using a telephone line and a modem to connect to the Internet (i.e., a dial-up connection), then you may not be able to receive certain audio or video files due to the slow connection speed.

To test your RealPlayer software installation, you might want to try clicking the link below. Once on this Web page, click the link for 'Start Tutorials'. If you are not able to hear this audio play through your RealPlayer software, then this would indicate that you either have a problem with your software installation or your connection speed is not fast enough: http://realone.real.com/?subsection=gsg&page=tutorial
